What is Wireless High Speed Internet Service?
Wireless Internet Service works much like a radio in your car or home. Wireless Internet Service uses a site called an Access Point (AP), which is connected to the internet and acts as a 'transmitter'. Currently our AP sites are in Holton, Mayetta, and Circleville, with others planned in the future. A wireless modem will be attached to your computer in your home or business, and it acts as a reciever. The main difference between a normal radio and a wireless modem is that it is 'two-way'; it both receives and transmits, so you can send and receive the 'Internet'. If you are very close to our AP sites, you will need only an indoor antenna, included in the basic installation. If you are farther away or have a lot of dense trees or buildings, you will require an outside antenna, and a more complex non-basic installation may be involved.

Because many applications require it, and some are more stable with a static IP address than with one that changes constantly.
